The City of St. Regis Park has a Mayor/Council form of government. The Mayor is elected by popular vote and serves a term of four (4) years. There are seven (7) council members, who are elected by popular vote and serve a term of two (2) years.

Mr. Schweickhardt moved to St. Regis with his parents in 1984 at the age of 10. He was the paperboy for nearly half the neighborhood from 1986 to 1992. He graduated from Ascension in 1988 and St Xavier in 1992. A graduate of the University of Louisville, Mr. Schweickhardt is currently employed as a sales representative for FischerSips, LLC. He purchased his current residence on Mt Vernon Rd in 2005. Mr. Schweickhardt looks forward to the opportunity to serve as councilman.

John Amback was born and raised in Louisville’s Germantown neighborhood and graduated from the University of Louisville School of Business in 1993. He retired in 2010 after a 36-year career as a Tool and Die Journeyman at GE. Being residents of St. Regis Park since 1983, he and his wife Lynn raised four boys on Lincoln Road. They are blessed with nine grandchildren.

Laura has been a St. Regis member since 2010 and loves the friendly community where neighbors wave hello to one another and watch out for each other. She has two children, ages 17 and 14, and has loved the safety our neighborhood provides so they can ride their bikes, walk to the pool or run among friends' homes without her worrying-too much. The freedom and safety this neighborhood provide our children is one reason why she ran for the council. Laura is a member at Ascension, serving on numerous different committees over the years, and is volunteer Board President of Upper Highlands Swim Club. She is a Pres grad and went on to graduate from Brescia University and Indiana Wesleyan ending with a master's in management. Her day has her working in mental health where she serves as the Director of Operations/KY Executive Director

Mr. Sanderfer has been a resident of St Regis park for 12 years. He has been married to my wife, Maranda, for 17 years. They have 4 kids whose ages range from 16 to 8. The oldest attends Mercy High School and the others attend Church of the Ascension. Matt went to school at Holy Cross and attended Kentucky Wesleyan where he played college baseball. He is an active parishioner at Church of the Ascension. Matt volunteer as the soccer coordinator and coach for Church of the Ascension school grades JK-2nd. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus and a licensed real estate appraiser in the state of Kentucky and Indiana.

Mr. Shackelford moved to St. Regis on Dannywood Rd with his wife in 2012. He has been in the Kentucky National Guard for over 16 yrs and has been on the council for St. Regis since 2013. Mr. Shackelford has been a part of many different charities and looks forward to getting the neighborhood together and make it a closer community of neighbors and friends.

Mr. Theis holds degrees from both Sullivan College and St Petersburg College. He is the Director Of Clinical Services for Maverick Oxygen, a wholesale medical gas manufacturer. In addition to managing clinical operations and training, he oversees the IT and marketing projects for the company. He and his wife have been proud residents of St Regis Park since 2010 and he enjoys playing with his son and tinkering with his 3D printer. He looks forward to contributing to the city as a new council member.

Mr. Weis first lived in St. Regis Park as a child from 1979 until 1991. After graduating from Ascension grade school, St. Xavier High School and then the University of Louisville, majoring in finance, he returned to the neighborhood in 2009. He served on several boards and committees at Church of the Ascension for a decade, including Parish Council and Finance Committee and currently works at Fedex Express.

Ms. Willett is a pediatric neonatal specialist. A graduate of Waggener High School, she attended Sullivan University. She is an active member and serves as Council President for St. Andrew United Church of Christ. Ms. Willett is a past Mayor and has served on the City Council in a variety of positions. She previously supervised and coordinated special events in the city and now oversees all areas of public safety. Ms. Willett resides on Lincoln Road.

Mr. Hodapp resides on Sir Johns Court with his wife and two children. He was a Councilman from 2011-2012 and was appointed as the City Clerk in 2013. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1988 with a B.S. in Fire and Safety Engineering and works for Greenway Shredding.

Jason Lewis served his country by enlisting in the Unites States Coast Guard to lead teams on missions assigned by the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. He has been a small business operator and worked in corporate finance, project management, account management, and real estate. Jason obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Louisville and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration program from Indiana Wesleyan University. He currently serves his community as the Church of Ascension’s Director of Facilities Management.Mr. Lewis has resided in St Regis Park for approximately five and a half years, attended St Xavier High School, and grew up watching Kentucky Wildcat basketball religiously back when Joe B Hall was the coach. He is married and has two young children, a son and daughter, enrolled in Ascension. Jason takes every opportunity to go fishing and enjoy the outdoors with family and friends. He and Laura, his wife, devote much of their time and talents to assist various local non-profit agencies and are fortunate to be a part of Ascension School and Church of the Ascension.
Beginning with the new terms of office in January 2023 the Mayor is paid $800.00 per month and Council members are paid $250.00 per month.
The positions of mayor and city council are obtained by filing for non-partisan elections held the first Tuesday of November. To run for Mayor or a council position a person must file with the Board of Elections prior to August 12 in order to be placed on the ballot in November. The City Council meets on the of every 3rd Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.. The meetings are held at the Jeffersontown Fire District, 4318 Taylorsville Road. Notices of the meetings are published in the monthly newsletter. The meetings are open to the public and your comments are welcome during Citizen Participation at the beginning of every City Council meeting.
